Breakfast for me usually consists of two options – eggs in some format (usually with truffle butter as what better way to start the day?) or muesli and yogurt. Cuckoo has combined the later making a bircher muesli packaging them into very useable individual pots. They are ideal for portion control (I always have too much) and offer a good variety of flavours. They company was started by two school friends and had their first listing on the 9th of December 2013 in Selfridges 2013. They are now available in Waitrose, Co-Op and Tesco. I enjoyed:-

Mango and Coconut
Elderflower and Cranberry
Apple and Cinnamon
Choco Sour Cherry

I had also received a few individual “shot” portions of Lizi’s granola and came up with the idea of combining them. With summer approaching I wanted to invent a combo with the two that would be cooling and came up with the idea of freezing the Cuckoo muesli, slicing it and then adding the granola to make a sort of mille feuille. It worked really well and was not too difficult to do. It adds a little decadence to breakfast and would make a lovely surprise for a partner.

I froze the bircher muesli and the sliced it to make a mini Mille Feuille using Liza's granola.

I really recommend that you try these as they are perfect for the busy family who need a healthy breakfast on the go, or like me flatly refuse to pay £15 for a lack lustre breakfast in a chain hotel.
